Getting started is simple. Fill out the Account Entry Form online. We will contact you with questions for final account setup, as well as, get you the documentation we need to receive to allow you to start ordering.

Is a National Criminal Search the Best Criminal Search?

The National Criminal Search is a stored database source compiled from many jurisdictions nationally. It should not be considered a complete national search. The information should be used in conjunction with other searches for best results. This search is meant to be used to catch worst offenders and will not have many types of cases in many locations.

What should I do if I get cases on my candidate?

Give a copy of the report and the FCRA rights to the candidate. If the information causes a non-hire decision, you will need to give a pre-adverse action letter to the candidate along with telling the candidate they can dispute the information at sales@cluso.com. If the candidate disputes the information you should hold any decision because reports are sometimes errored. We will immediately work to resolve the candidate dispute claim and issue a final report as quickly as possible. The final report will be issued to our client and candidate with an explanation. Quick resolution means least impact to your candidates and your organization. The key is to give your candidates time to resolve any dispute before final decisions are made to ensure the candidates FCRA are upheld.

If you are setting up searches to order by hiring position, consider your risk by position. The higher your liability risk the more thorough a background should be.

Criminal Search Choices.

County Level Felony & Misdemeanor Searches pinpoint search areas. The county level search is very good for finding pending/active cases, warrants and all cases regardless of disposition; however, there are over 3,000 counties in the country and you cannot cost-effectively search all of them. County Level Searches can be used in conjunction with state level searches and National criminal Searches to get a cost effective thorough report. Based on your risk you can request less or more in combination to meet your needs.

Criminal Records are stored by legal name and DOB.

Ensure our final report identifiers matches the candidates DL as a final review. If there is a mismatch in identifying information, you should contact us. We may need to re-run research to ensure criminal records were not missed..

Identity Matching is not direct from the Social Security Administration.

Our identity matching tool utilizes credit header and DMV sources to give possible name spelling variations and additional addresses the candidate may be associated to. This tool is not foolproof and should be considered as a flagging mechanism only. The Social Security Administration will only interface with your company after you employ the candidate. At that point they will confirm valid ownership of the SSN.
